The Challenges
To design, manufacture, deliver, install and commission fully compliant HTM-03 specification air handling units to serve the new Angioplasty ward at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.
With a timescale of just four weeks, and additional challenges of extremely limited plant space and significant access restrictions on-site, this project tested our flexible and dedicated engineers to the limit.
The Solutions
Our expert air handling engineers designed customised units to fit around existing services and plant in the basement.
A flat pack manufacture process and full assembly on-site resolved the issue of access restrictions and our acoustic engineers designed an attenuation system to satisfy the noise specification requirements.
A partnership approach with both the end user and main contractor was essential to ensure a working operating theatre two days after the planned commissioning date.
