Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden is one of only a few places in the UK where large-scale film productions can be made.
The studios contain approximately 50,000 m2 (538,196 sq ft) of flexible space which includes stage space, production office space, workshops and support buildings, along with an extensive 32-hectare (79-acre) backlot favourable for exterior sets.
Following an over £110m refurbishment by Warner Bros. the studios are now one of the largest and most state-of-the-art film-making facilities in the world
The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour was opened in 2012 and has seen visitor numbers steadily rise to over 6000 per day at peak times. As a result the main visitor restaurant and kitchen area required significant expansion to accommodate this additional footfall.
Mansfield Pollard’s expertise was required to provide a fully DW/172 and DW/144 compliant kitchen ventilation solution for a new 800m2 commercial kitchen extension working closely with the main contractor Western Blueprint.
Our internal business units of kitchen ventilation, air handling, energy controls, ductwork, and acoustics collaborated to design, manufacture and install the full solution in-house.
6 bespoke canopies with extract duties up to 2.66m3/s and canopy sizes of up to 9.50 metres along the main cook-line.
Custom designed attenuation package reducing internal and external breakout noise to NR50.
Touch screen ‘Eco-Sense’ demand control system: automatically adjusts airflow dependent upon canopy activity.
DW/144 compliant ductwork system including fire-rated & stainless steel sections leading to colour matched external risers and intake louvres.
Air handling system supplying 5m3/s @500Pa with air tempering as required.
