Mansfield Pollard: Apprenticeship Employer of the year

two staff members receive an award

We are proud to announce that Mansfield Pollard are officially Appris’ Apprenticeship Employer of the Year for 2021. This exciting achievement has been hard earned by the MP team, who have dedicated themselves to the growth and development of our apprentices.

In 2020 we took on a record number of apprentices across a wide range of areas including CAD, Electrical, Fabrication, Refrigeration and Maintenance. Guided by our industry experts, we provide real-life experience and on the job learning that builds confidence, improves understanding and offers tangible opportunities for the future.

Apprentices are the lifeblood of our business and encourage the next generation of industry professionals to take that first step in their career. Our Operations Director, Bryan Bentley, has a special place in his heart for apprenticeships, accrediting his own as a defining moment in his career, “Starting out as an apprentice was an incredible learning curve for me. It gave me the skills and know-how to progress in this business and take me to where I am today. I’m passionate about apprentices and, along with many others at MP, see them as the future of this industry.”

Here at Mansfield Pollard, we recognise that an apprenticeship is so much more than learning how to do a job or achieve a qualification, it is a chance to make a real difference!

In addition to the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year, our Production Manager Andy Szczyrba was also awarded Management & Business Support Apprentice of the Year and Apprenticeship Champion of the Year. A real testament to his care and enthusiasm, these awards gave Andy an opportunity to speak about why he is so dedicated to our apprentices. “There’s no greater satisfaction than seeing a young apprentice discover their passion. Being a part of that journey, helping someone to learn and grow, is a reward in and of itself and one that I’ll never get tired of.”

We want to take this opportunity to thank Appris for this humbling recognition and congratulate all of our fellow nominees. In the coming years we hope to increase our apprenticeship programme, providing even more opportunities for local youth in and around the Yorkshire area.
