The Challenge
MP Acoustic Control were tasked to provide a packaged attenuation solution for two DRUPS units capable of producing 2MW of electrical energy to ensure uninterrupted supply to over 4000 specialist research scientists.
The units were to be housed on the first floor of an external skeletal framework next to working laboratories. In addition to a noise level of 70 dB(a)@1M the packaged unit was to function with maximum energy efficiency in both conditioning and operational modes.
The Solution
Due to the installation restrictions, the custom built acoustic enclosures were supplied in a modular format to enable crane lifting on-site.
The 4 fan wall cooling system was designed to minimise the parasitic load whilst the generator was in conditioning mode and provide up to 40m3/s. A custom built base and unit ensured a cost effective and fit for purpose solution.
Introduction of adaptive shift patterns allowed delivery within a 6 weeks time-frame.
The Highlights
Modular build to minimise.
On-site construction time6 weeks lead-time from.
Design to delivery Independently tested to guarantee noise control.
Synchronised fan wall to meet airflow requirements.
As an agile business with staff who are totally customer focused, we always deliver on time, every time.
